The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chandling Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient provision of supplies and services to vessels, including food, equipment, spare parts, and other essential maritime provisions.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the procurement and supply of food, equipment, spare parts, and other essential items for vessels.
  • Ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies to ships in compliance with maritime operational requirements.
  • Work closely with ship captains, vessel managers, and crew to understand their specific supply needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and supply chain efficiency.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with port operations, customs regulations, and shipping logistics.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to ensure continuous availability of necessary supplies.
  • Ensure all supplies meet the required quality standards and are in accordance with ISO and other industry-specific requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, shipments, and inventory using ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Handle any discrepancies or issues related to supply delays, quality concerns, or vendor relations.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the efficient operation of the chandelling process.

Educational Qualification / Required Experience / Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in ship Chandling, procurement, or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of port operations, customs regulations, and shipping logistics.
  • Should be a collaborative team player.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Good PR, Communication skills with a passion for work.
